From 2011 through 2015 Brian was the Deputy Portfolio Manager of Riverloft Capital, an event-driven, special situation hedge fund that invests across the capital structure. As a Founding Partner, Brian ran the industrials, materials and energy portfolio as well as their credit efforts. From 2009 through 2010, Mr. Kabot was the head of distressed and special situation investing for a $400 million family office. From 2006 to 2009, he held the position of Portfolio Manager at Sun Capital Partners where he ran the industrials, materials and energy portfolio for Sun Capital’s $1.5 billion securities fund. The securities fund focused on distressed and special situations in both the equity and credit markets, as well as selective activism. Before Sun Capital, Brian was a Senior Analyst at Reservoir Capital Group where he worked on both equity and credit opportunities. In addition, Brian has five years of private equity and distressed private equity experience, holding positions at DLJ Merchant Banking Partners and Questor Management Company. Brian has a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting from Cornell University.
